Mix Tape of the Day: June 8, 2015 - Classical Cartoons

Today, we experience a lot of classical music through their use in television and film.  One subset of these pieces are those used primarily or famously in cartoons.  Here are a few that always remind me of old Looney Tunes or Disney shorts for whatever reason.

1. The Blue Danube - Johann Strauss II (1866)

2. Orpheus in the Underworld - Jacques Offenbach (1858)

3. Carnival of the Animals: Finale - Camille Saint-Saëns (1886)

5. Dance of the Hours - Amilcare Ponchielli (1876)

6. Flight of the Bumblebee - Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (1900)

7. Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 - Franz Liszt (1847)
9. The Barber of Seville: Overture - Gioachino Rossini (1816)

11. William Tell: Overture - Gioachino Rossini (1829)

13. Ride of the Valkyries - Richard Wagner (1856)
